Regions Settings
There are two separate choices in the Regions Designer: which saved layout is Active, and which saved layout you select to Arrange Now.
- Active selects the policy used for automatic placement when TaskManSync needs a position for a new item. You can have one Active Regions Layout or none. Changing or editing the Active layout does not rearrange existing items.
- Arrange Now applies the selected, saved layout to the current workspace. The selected layout does not need to be Active, and arranging with it does not make it Active.
With no Active Regions Layout, automatic placement uses the normal behavior without Regions policy. You can still select a saved layout and choose Arrange Now.
New Regions Layouts start inactive. Mark one Active explicitly if you want it to guide automatic placement.
To set up automatic placement, create and edit a layout, mark it Active, then save the configuration page. To arrange the existing workspace, select the layout you want and choose Arrange Now. Saving, activating, or editing a layout alone does not apply it to existing items.
Saved layouts and the Active selection are shared by TaskManSync applets in the same Plasma session. Panels and monitors do not have separate Regions layouts or separate workspace Orders. Layouts and the Active selection are saved across restarts; Regions do not replace TaskManSync’s normal workspace recovery.
Regions define placement, not presentation. There are no per-Region width, alignment, or appearance settings. For task width and taskbar alignment, see Other Settings; Decoration appearance is configured with its Decoration definition.
