Launchers
Launchers are persistent entries in your TaskManSync workspace for KDE application targets, usually backed by .desktop entries. A Launcher is not a running Task: a Task represents one current window, so both can appear together. Launching an application does not change the Launcher into a Task or connect it to a later window.
Each Launcher keeps its target and position in the workspace’s single shared Order, alongside Tasks, Decorations, and Widgets. Targets and positions persist across TaskManSync and Plasma restarts; applets presenting the same workspace share the Launcher set and Order, even if their orientation or available space differs.
See Creating Launchers, Using Launchers, and Launchers in the workspace for creation, launch behavior, moving and removal, Regions, Hiding, and presentation.
